French Cheese Board

A French Cheese Board is actually fairly simple to make, but there are some guidelines that you may not know about! Learn what cheeses to use and how to assemble a delicious French cheese board.

Ingredients

Cheeses

  • Soft cheese (e.g. camembert, brie)
  • Hard cheese (e.g. gruyere, gouda)
  • Goat cheese
  • Blue cheese

Sweet (choose 2)

  • Grapes
  • Apple slices
  • Figs
  • Raisins
  • Fig jam
  • Honey

Salty (choose 2)

  • Olives
  • Nuts (pistachios, peanuts, almonds)
  • Salted butter

Breads (choose 1-2)

  • Fresh French baguette
  • Crusty sourdough loaf
  • Rye bread
  • Any bread with a nice crust will do

Instructions

  • Choose at least 3-5 different cheeses (up to 7 if making a large board) with varying shapes and textures.
  • Remove cheeses from fridge at least an hour before serving.
  • Arrange cheese clockwise, from softer to harder, leaving strongest flavors last.
  • Arrange the sweet and salty treats around the cheeses, along with the breads.
  • Be artistic and have fun designing your cheese board!

Notes

TIPS FOR SERVING:
Cut a few slices into each cheese to invite your guests to cut into them the correct way.
Serve with wine or sparkling grape juice!
