Print Recipe
This homemade DIY lip balm is all natural and made with only 4 ingredients! It's a fun recipe to make with older kids and makes for great stocking stuffers, gifts for teachers, or just about anyone!
Prep Time:15 minutes

Equipment

  • Double Boiler (or glass Pyrex measuring cup)
  • 6 .5-ounce empty lip balm tins

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup beeswax pellets
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 2 tbsps. sweet almond oil
  • 10-15 drops essential oil

Instructions

  • Fill your bottom bowl of your double boiler with about an inch of water and place on stove over low heat.
  • In the top bowl of your double boiler, place all ingredients, except for the essential oil.
  • Place over pot with water and stir until completely melted.
  • Remove from heat and add 10-15 drops of essential oil of choice.
  • Pour into your empty tins. I poured a little at a time, using a small Pyrex measuring cup.
  • Allow to cool 10-15 minutes.
  • Now they are ready to use! These make great stocking stuffers, teacher gifts or gifts for just about anyone!

Notes

This recipe is versatile and very forgiving. You can add a little more of the almond oil to get a slightly softer balm or less to achieve a more solid one. Play around to see what you like best. Adding honey would be great to soften and add even more nourishing qualities! Beeswax can also be substituted using shea butter, it will turn out a bit different, but it would still make a great LIP BALM!
If you don't have a double boiler, just mix everything together in a glass or microwave safe dish about 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until melted.
