Brazilian Limeade

· · ·
Outside on a table, Brazilian Limeade in a glass cup and pitcher with limes all around.

Brazilian Limeade is a creamy and refreshing twist on a typical limeade. It’s made using fresh limes and sweetened condensed milk for that delicious creaminess! This is our second drink to try for our South American studies and it did not disappoint. Condensed milk seems to be a popular addition to many South American recipes and I think they might be on to something!

We love to try different recipes from around the world and drink recipes are a fantastic and fun way to “visit” another culture. This limeade is so simple to make and the perfect summer beverage! My kids enjoyed this on a nice 90-degree day here in Texas, while splashing around in the pool. It makes for some fun summer memories.

What do you need for Brazilian Limeade?

  • Limes
  • Sweetened condensed milk
  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Ice

How to make brazilian limeade?

First you’ll want to quarter your limes and then peel them.

Place the peeled limes in your blender, along with the water, sweetened condensed milk, and sugar. If you have a smaller blender, you may need to blend half of the recipe at a time, or it will overflow.

Blend for 15-20 seconds. Any longer than that may make the limeade taste bitter.

Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher.

You can either serve right away or place in refrigerator to cool, then serve!

NOte

Some Brazilian Limeade recipes call for the rind to be blended in as well. I prefer to peel, but you could try it either way.
Just know that it may make it taste a bit more bitter with the rind.
Feel free to skip the straining process, especially if you prefer the pulp. You may want to serve right away, though, because the longer it sits, the more bitter it will become.
Add more or less sweetener to your taste. We prefer it very sweet, but it’s up to you!
You can also adjust the water if you like. Add more or less depending on your preference.
