This no-bake chocolate pie is a creamy and decadent dessert! Made with cream cheese as the base, this is like a French silk pie but doesn’t use eggs or require any baking time. It is a crowd pleaser that you are sure to love!

I don’t know about you, but I love pie! Especially one that tastes like I spent a bit more time preparing than I actually did! No-bake pies are a favorite around here because we often will decide last minute that we want to prepare a delicious dessert, but don’t have a lot of time. No-bake pies are perfect for this! This chocolate pie is absolutely the best out there that I’ve tried. It’s much richer and more decant than the average cream or pudding pie, although those are great too!

Recently this pie has been the birthday “cake” for many of my kids! We all just love it that much. I first played around with finding the perfect Christmas chocolate pie and landed on this as my recipe. Mostly because I just love a good cream cheese base, but one that doesn’t require baking is only better in my opinion. It reminds me of a homemade no-bake cheesecake, but it tastes just a bit more decadent with the real chocolate bits melted into it. So, if you’re looking for a great dessert to serve at your next holiday get together, this no-bake chocolate pie would be the perfect pie!

ingredients needed:

For the Whipped Cream:

  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Powdered sugar

The Chocolate Pie Filling:

  • Semi-sweet chocolate (chopped)
  • Butter
  • Cream Cheese
  • Powdered sugar
  • Prepared whipped cream

For the Crust and Topping

  • Prepared 9″ pie crust
  • Prepared whipped topping
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

How to make no-bake chocolate pie:

First, you’ll need to prepare the whipped cream. Using a stand mixer or handheld mixer, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together on high speed for about 5-7 minutes or until stiff peaks form. This recipe should make about 5 cups of whipped cream. Set aside 2 cups to go on last as topping. The remaining 3 cups will go into the filling.

In a medium sized microwavable bowl, add the chopped chocolate and the butter. Microwave for about 30 seconds, remove and stir. Then microwave for another 20 seconds or until melted and smooth. Allow to cool while preparing the filling.

In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese for about 1 minute until fluffy and smooth. Add in the powdered sugar and whisk together.

Now add in the melted chocolate and mix to combine.

Gently fold in the 3 cups prepared whipped cream.

Spread the chocolate pie filling into the pie crust. Pipe or spread the remaining 2 cups of whipped cream onto the top and garnish with chocolate shavings.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving, although overnight is best.

  • 1 (8 oz pkg) cream cheese room temperature
  • cups powdered sugar more or less depending on how sweet you prefer
  • 3 cups prepared whipped cream

For Crust and Topping

  • 1 9" deep dish pie crust pre-baked (either homemade or according to package directions) You can also use a prepared graham cracker crust.
  • 2 cups prepared whipped topping
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish
