Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

This easy chocolate chip cookies recipe is truly the best! They are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle and so delicious! Simple ingredients and super simple to make. This will become your favorite go-to, never-fail chocolate chip cookie recipe!
We love a good cookie recipe around here and most of the time I’m up for experimenting using different ingredients. But sometimes, when life is busy, you just want to make a batch of no-fuss basic chocolate chip cookies. You want a recipe with simple ingredients that you know you are sure to have on hand.
This is that recipe. It’s so simple in fact, that I have it memorized and can whip up a batch in no time if the mood strikes! These cookies are also exactly what you want when you’re craving an old-fashioned chocolate chip cookie. Crispy, yet soft and gooey at the same time.
What Makes these chocolate Chip Cookies Easy?
Basically, the fact that these cookies don’t use any weird substitutions, like applesauce or flaxseed. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good recipe that includes those things, but this is straight forward and made using your typical ingredients for cookies.
The dough itself is also pretty forgiving. Meaning, you really can’t mess it up. Too much flour? Too little flour? They’re are still going to turn out great! I’ve made these many times, and they always turn out delicious! It also doesn’t require any refrigeration time before baking. Just mix it up, roll the cookies into balls and place in oven to bake!
What Equipment do you need?
- Cookie scoop: I recommend this for scooping the dough into balls if you want the cookies to be even in size. It’s not necessary though, and alternatively, you can just use a spoon and your hands just as easily.
- Stand or handheld mixer: This is helpful for mixing everything together well.
- Cookie sheet: This is a must for baking the cookies
- Parchment paper: Not to be mistaken for wax paper! This just makes for easy cleanup, but you can also just grease your pan and place cookie dough directly on the baking sheet.
- Mixing bowls: I recommend at least 2 large mixing bowls in order to mix the wet ingredients separate from the dry ingredients before combining.
Ingredients needed for easy chocolate chip cookies:
- All-purpose flour
- Baking soda
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Salted butter

- Brown sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Eggs
- Chocolate chips

Instructions for making ok chocolate chip cookies:
Step1: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with grease.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients. The flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
Step 3: In a separate bowl, using a hand or stan mixer, whisk together the butter and sugars until well combined.
Step 4: Add in the eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Step 5: Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients about 1/2 cup at a time and mix until well combined.
Step 6: Lastly add in the chocolate chips and mix well.
Step 7: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, roll cookie dough (about 2-3 tbsps.) into balls and place them evenly on the parchment lined baking sheet.

Step 8: Bake for 8-10 minutes until just starting to brown. They may not seem fully done, but as soon as they start to brown, you want to remove them so not to overbake.
Step 9: Allow to cool on pan for 5 minutes before transferring to rack to cool completely.

Tips for success!
If you make your cookies larger than 2-3 tablespoons, you may need to increase baking time, and keep in mind that it will result in fewer total cookies.
Don’t wait for cookies to appear done before removing from oven or you will end up with hard, overbaked cookies!
Storage:
Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days or in freezer for up to 2 months.
