This graham cracker crust is easy to make and the perfect amount of buttery goodness! Just 3 ingredients to make this delicious pie crust for all your quick pie dessert recipes!

If you’re like me, I love a pie with a good buttery graham cracker crust! It’s so easy to be tempted to purchase an already made one from the store, and believe me, I’ve made this mistake more times than I’d like to admit! As a busy mom, I get it. But really and truly, it’s not worth it. How many times has a stale and bland store bough pie crust ruined a delicious pie? They are easy, but nothing beats homemade, and this recipe is really so simple, there’s no excuse for ruining any more pies!

tips for making a graham cracker crust:

To make things a bit easier, I recommend blending up some graham crackers in a food processor ahead of time. For me, this is the most time-consuming part, although, still pretty simple in the scheme of things. But it could save you time next time you find yourself in the mood to make a quick pie! I blend up just enough extra at a time and place in a Ziplock bag to make a couple of pies. You don’t want to do too much at a time and have them go stale.

In this recipe I suggest baking this graham cracker crust, but if you’re making a no-bake pie, it’s not necessary to bake. You can just simply place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before filling. I still prefer to bake mine either way because I’ve had better luck with it staying together and not crumbling when removing a slice of pie.

A graham cracker crust is a pie plate.

Another way to help prevent the crust from sticking to the pie plate, is to spray it with grease ahead of time. Depending on what climate you’re in, you may need to decrease the amount of butter slightly as well.

Ingredients needed:

  • Graham cracker crumbs
  • Sugar
  • Butter (melted)

How to make a this graham cracker crust:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

If using whole graham crackers, you’ll need to blend them up into crumbs using a food processor first or place them in a Ziploc bag and use a rolling pin to crush them up into crumbs.

Then in a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter together until well combined. Use a fork to help break up any clumps.

Process photos showing graham crackers being blended and mixed with sugars and butter.

Pour mixture into a 9″ pie plate and gently spread and press into bottom and sides of plate. You can use the bottom of a measuring cup for more even distribution.

Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes.

Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.

If making a no-bake pie, you can skip this step if you prefer and just cool in the refrigerator for 30 minutes while preparing the filling.

Make sure the crust is completely cooled before pouring in your pie filling.

Fill with a delicious no-bake cheesecake or chocolate pie or whatever favorite no-bake pie of yours!

Enjoy!

You can also add spices to this, such as cinnamon to enhance the flavor!
This doesn’t require baking for no-bake recipes, but I have had better luck with my crusts sticking together when they are baked. So, I bake either way!
If you have trouble with the crust sticking to your plate when removing, you can try spraying your pie plate with grease first or you may need to decrease the amount of butter slightly to see if that helps.
